President's Message

I encourage all of you to visit the link below to the results of the Competency-Based National Insolvency Exam (CNIE). It may come as a surprise to a lot of people that nearly 73% of all writers ultimately succeed on the exam. It shows that the CIRP Qualification Program (CQP) is carrying out its mandate of preparing the future of the profession.

While recent results have been disappointing, we have already taken a number of measures to improve the Program and we will continue to look at ways to better support candidates to enhance the chance of success of those writers who are ready for the CNIE.

However, the commitment of CAIRP members to our educational program has never been greater. Incredibly, there are 105 members currently involved as dedicated volunteers in various aspects of the CQP. The Program couldn’t possibly run without them. We need to recognize their efforts and show them a big expression of our gratitude.

- Mark Yakabuski, President and Chief Operating Officer

OSB Social Media Campaign

The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB) has launched an online campaign on selected social media, aimed at Canadians with an interest in personal finance matters.

These posts link to resources on the OSB website where visitors can learn about Licensed Insolvency Trustees (LIT), watch videos, and find resources on dealing with debt.

Please help us spread the word by retweeting and reposting the OSB’s social media messages.
